Starting out life in the seventies, it wasn't long before I was accessing a record player and a selection of vinyl. This opened up my musical world.
At school I began playing violin and piano, then joining youth orchestras and ensembles.
At school I joined a band that later developed into the semi-professional large soul covers band The Fabulous BB Kings. I started out as the keyboard player and later became one of the lead vocalists, performing a wide range of soul and popular music.
We performed in local pubs and clubs, private and corporate events, as well as headlining our own theatre shows.
Alongside playing live, I became fascinated by the possibilities of electronic music. I started experimenting with synthesizers, sequencers and home studio recording, writing and recording electronic pop songs and instrumental pieces.
At different times I worked under different names, exploring different musical flavours and directions. The freedom of creating music at home opened up a whole new world of possibilities.
While at university I began recording in studios and performing gigs in and around Manchester, continuing to develop as a songwriter, and musician.
After moving to London in 1999, I spent several years working in the BBC Music Library, while continuing to write and record my own music.
Over the years I have created music in many different forms — from electronic pop and instrumental works to piano and vocal pieces, as well as music for contemporary dance in education and other visual projects.
This website brings together a selection of my recorded output, alongside videos, archive material and other pieces from different stages of my musical journey.
